If your practical like me and consider comfort and the weather before putting anything on, then don’t be too quick to rule out the idea of wearing pants to bring in the New Year.

What better way to bring good fortune your way in 2012 except in a pair of solid gold trousers?  They add the glitz required for the occasion and let's face it, when else is this color any more appropriate?

I’d keep make up minimal; using gold's and browns for shadow with the exception of a bright red lip. Match your lip to your clutch and keep it moving till the clock strikes 12!  I finished this look with a pair Valentino open toes pumps, and a sheer Tibi shirt.  If you're not one for the outright sparkle that New Year's is known for this is a nice let's call it “conservative” alternative.

As much as I would love to hit the streets and party this year, I think it’s more likely that I’ll park my butt in front of the TV at home to watch the countdown by a warm toasty fire and my own alcoholic concoction.  Drink responsibly now!
