Frenchmen's Bay in Pickering Ontario is one of my favourite little getaway spots in the city. I absolutely love being near any large body of water, it just washes a calm over my overworked and stressed out little soul. Jarratt, Emijah and I packed our lunch bag and hit the beach for a picnic!
Seeing as it was a million degrees out the beach was packed, but we managed to find a spot near the water where the breeze kept the sweat whisked away from my brow for much of the day. We ate baguettes and pudding and a bunch of other snack our full bellies couldn’t muster enough strength to plough through. I also found time to meditate and write again, something I haven’t been able to do for weeks; what more could a girl ask for? Food, family and fun; all the ingredients of the perfect day.
After baking a few shades darker in the sun and washing our feet in the cold water as the waves rolled in, we grabbed some ice cream and hit the dusty trail home. My colourful dress garnered plenty of attention, all good of course! I loved the feel of the wind against my back, can’t wait for the next family outing!
