Evolution of Skechers
Skechers is an American company that creates fashionable shoes, sport
shoes for men and women aged 19 to 40 The company Multimillion dollar
and produces more than 900 styles of shoes in different production
facilities in China, Romania , Mexico and Brazil. Skechers shoes are
available at big department stores like Macy's and Nordstrom as well
as at 38 of its own stores.

Start:

Skechers was founded in 1992 by retail veteran Robert Greenberg, who
had already established womens athletic wear brand LA Gear in 1983.
His career as Greenberg had sold wigs to beauty o vendors in Boston,
designer jeans imported into the retail market, and its properties

Partnership

At the beginning of Greenberg for his part in English brand Dr.
Martens shoes. Both companies later had a dispute in order for
deliveries in 1993, was Sketchers on his own and had to rely on their
own models of success.


Skechers Expansion
In 1997, the company began to sell shoes abroad in Southeast Asia and
Eastern Europe. In 1998, 15 percent of the company s earnings was from
foreign markets.

Niche Market
The original purpose was to give men nonathletic casual shoes. The
dominant producer of mens shoes was Nike, but was not offering too
many street shoes

Fun Fact

Skechers design first hit design was called "Chrome Dome&" which began
in 1993. that was for both men and women, and was inspired by the
grunge trend of fashion in the 1990s. The shoe was made to look worn
and scuffed up heels appeared, matching pre-torn and faded jeans as
popular at the time.
