How To Make Hair Relaxer Posted: 31 Mar 2011 06:17 AM PDT There are times when men with curly hair wish to try a different hairstyle that calls for the hair to be straight before styling. However, getting the curl out of the hair is not easy, or is it? Many substances have properties that will straighten, or relax, curly hair. Here, we will explore how to make hair relaxer. There are many different recipes that use items one is likely to have in the home to make hair relaxer. Olive oil is among the best because it not only relaxes the hair, it also moisturizes. To use it as a hair relaxer, one need simply warm about a quarter cup until it feels warm to the touch. Apply the warm oil over the entire head of hair. Wrap the head in a warm towel and keep warm by using a blow dryer on the towel for 5-10 minutes. Let stand for one or two hours and wash out. The hair should by relaxed and silky smooth. Surprisingly, milk acts as a hair relaxer. To use in this fashion, one should spray the milk over the hair with a spray bottle and allow to sit for about an hour. Wash the milk out and the hair will be completely relaxed. When you are finding out how to make hair relaxer, take into consideration the type of hair that you have. For especially stubborn curls, there is a more complex hair relaxer recipe, still using ingredients found in most homes. One cup of honey, half a cup of olive oil, half a cup of lemon juice, and half a cup of caramel can be mixed in a bowl. Note that the ingredients must be mixed thoroughly to prevent it forming a sticky mess on the hair that is difficult to wash out. Allow mixture to sit on hair for about half an hour and wash out normally. This particular blend is among the best of natural relaxers for black hair.
